Treat Yourself This Valentine's Day
Hi and welcome back to the Good Stuff! No date for Valentine’s Day this year? No problem. Valentine’s Day shouldn’t be reserved only for couples, anyways. Think about all the love you have in your life that isn’t romantic. You have your friends, family, pets, and most importantly, yourself to show appreciation towards this holiday, and I am going to give you some ideas on how to make your day super duper special.
1. Show your body some appreciation and go on a hike!
Getting out into nature is one of the best ways to connect with yourself, your pet, your friends, or your family this Valentine’s Day. Take a walk, feel the sun, and take a moment just to value the present moment and yourself. Think of all that your body is capable of doing for you. Your body shows up for you every day, and it deserves wholehearted love this Valentine’s Day. You can curate a playlist of some of your favorite songs or cue up a podcast (I recommend anything by Jay Shetty). Afterward, fuel up with a nourishing smoothie or bowl. There’s nothing better than a big healthy meal after a nice hike outside.
2. Treat yourself to a Spa-day at home.
Self-care and bubble baths go hand-in-hand, am I right? But I’m going to show you how to take your bubble bath to the next level. It might seem extra, but you deserve it.
I’ve created a list of suggested items you can bring to enhance your bath, but you don’t need all of them. I am just giving you suggestions to improve your experience and differentiate this Valentine’s Day self-care bath from any regular bath.

Light a candle, turn on your favorite playlist, and pour yourself a drink. When the bath is filling up, add Epsom salt, essential oils, bath bomb (if you have one), flowers, and citrus slices—I like to use grapefruit and oranges—which are high in vitamin C, a powerful antioxidant.
If you don’t have a bath, you can still enjoy a spa day at home by putting in a hair mask, giving yourself a manicure + pedicure, or putting on a face mask.
Hair Massage an oil hair mask into your scalp, run the excess mask into the ends of your hair, clip up your hair and let it soak while you move onto your manicure, pedicure, and face mask. If you want to make your hair mask, here’s a simple recipe:

Body Exfoliate using a body scrub. If you don’t have one, you can make your own (see recipe), rinse off, and moisturize with lotion. Body Scrub Recipe

Face Cleanse, exfoliate, apply your favorite mask, and relax until it dries. Afterwards, you can tone + moisturize and massage your face with a serum. |
3. Throw a Galentine’s Day Pajama Party
Waiting around for someone to get you chocolates and flowers is so 2022… This Valentine's Day is the perfect opportunity to throw a girly pajama party for your friends. It just might end up being one of the best Valentine’s Days you’ve ever had. Think about it. Girls night. Romantic comedy. Girly pajamas. Heart-shaped-everything. Sweets. Rosé?! I’m already getting excited just thinking about all the fun you will have.

No matter how you spend the day or who you spend it with, I hope you feel at peace, respected, loved and cherished. I hope you’re reminded of the beauty of self-love and the power of small acts of kindness. I hope that you do something that brings a smile to your face or someone else’s. Sending love to anyone who feels lonely, who is grieving a loss, who is going through a breakup or who cannot spend the day with their loved one(s). Just remember — you are so important! Without you, I wouldn’t even be writing this article.
